A Collaboration Between:

Who is Involved?

In 2006, the Northeast Ohio Mayors & City Managers Association (NEOM&CMA) commissioned Phase I of the Regional Prosperity Initiative, known then as the Regional Economic Revenue Study. Since then, mayors, council members, county commissioners, township trustees, school district officials, business leaders, research experts and communications professionals have joined to find a better way to plan, share and grow together as a region.

To date, the RPI has received contributions from more than 35 communities and significant funding has been provided by the Fund for Our Economic Future.

As the RPI moves forward, it will be guided by a steering committee, comprised of co-chairs Pepper Pike Mayor Bruce H. Akers, Hudson Mayor William A. Currin, Richfield Mayor Michael K. Lyons.

Members include:

  • Medina County Commissioner Steve Hambley
  • Copley Township Trustee Helen Humphreys
  • Director of Regional Collaboration, Office of Cuyahoga County Executive, Ed Jerse
  • Chairman of Key Bank / CEO (retired) Henry Meyer
  • East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton Jr.
  • Former Garfield Heights Superintendent Dr. Jeanne Sternad
  • CollaborX Managing Partner Thomas N. Tryell
  • South Euclid Mayor Georgine Welo
  • Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone

The Steering Committee will oversee six “drill down teams” of additional elected officials, community leaders, subject matter experts and staff/consultants.
